CustomsPoint, Inc. was established in January of 2000 by international business professionals to automate and streamline the means by which international import/export trade data is managed and maintained. The core offering of the company is an Internet based application that provides a structured environment and tools for the assignment, storage, manipulation, reporting and validation of harmonized tariff numbers/Schedule B – mapped directly to a customer’s part numbers. In addition to tariff numbers the application can record almost any pertinent trade data specific to the commodity, such as export commodity control numbers, license numbers, flags indicating the jurisdiction of other non-Customs government agencies (such as the U.S. Food & Drug Administration), and supporting documents. The product also provides for electronic data transfer and the summarization of complex shipment specific trade detail into a format ready to be reported to government authorities for import or export clearances, formats for use in enterprise business systems such as SAP (Systems, Applications and Products) and ABI (Automated Brokerage Interface) providers as well. Additionally, the application allows for denied parties screening as required by many countries prior to exporting goods.
